The House Of Gucci, was originally founded in 1906. Guccio Gucci began the company in Florence, Italy and has helped it grow to become one of the most prestigious fashion brands in the world. The company as a whole earns well over 7 billion dollars from sales worldwide. Since the initial startup of the company in 1906, they have expanded to become a worldwide name, as well as a status symbol.

Things haven't always been so great for them as a company, though. In the late 1970's, family fighting brought some harm to this well known company. For the next few years, we would watch helpless as they drove it near bankruptcy. By the 80's, it had all but lost its fabulous appeal. This was because they had decided to begin wholesaling some of the accessories, selling them in thousands of stores in just the US alone.

The mass availability of the products caused it to lose its fashionable status with customers. People reported it as being 'a tacky airport brand'. On the verge of bankruptcy, Maurizio Gucci took control of the company after his father's death in 1983. Outside help was brought in, and the company made its turnaround, allowing them to once again became one of the most influential fashion houses in the world. They went public in 1995, and have continued growing exponentially since.

The company was even named 'European Company of the Year 1998' for its annual performance that year. From meager beginnings in Florence, to a worldwide household name, Gucci has seen it all. They have overcome so many problems to become a truly amazing company.
